May 7, 2019 Governor Brian Kemp signed the Heartbeat Bill, that the Georgia legislature had passed earlier this spring, which bans all abortions on unborn infants once their heartbeat is detectable.
The bill also allows parents to claim their unborn babies as dependents on their taxes and unborn babies will be included in census data. Mothers will also be able to collect child support for pregnancy and delivery costs from the father prior to the baby’s birth.
Georgia adds it’s name to a growing list of states that have passed Heartbeat Bills including Louisiana, Ohio, Mississippi, Iowa, Kentucky.
