Pope Francis canonized the Fatima seers Francisco and Jacinta Marto, 11 and 10 years old respectively, on May 13, 2017, the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady in Fatima, Portugal.
It was also 100 years from when a flu virus epidemic began to ravage Europe that claimed the lives of both little seers among the 21 million who perished from the illness. And only two years before the Coronavirus would become a worldwide threat.
Cliché’s come to mind:
There are no coincidences, all is Providence. God’s timing is perfect timing. All good things in God’s good time.
But it has never been denied that God raises up great saints in times of great need.
Let us then, invoke the intercession of the child saints, Francisco and Jacinta, whose feast we celebrate on February 20, that our beloved Pope Francis has given the Church, and the world, in this time of great need.
